Where is Fellowship of Deception?

Fellowship of Deception is on Dawn's reading list. Dawn is my agent with Blue Ridge Literary agency in Lynchburg, Virginia. This post is paintingless because I was busy editing the manuscript. The traditional publishing process is slow but necessary. This manuscript has gone from about 80,000 words to 57,000 with a lot of scenes dropped and some added from the original draft. Since this is being written by a newbie author I am not sure what else will be done to my dear Fellowship of Deception. But I know when it is finally published it will be the best it can be because the tradition publishing process makes good books. I remember when I got Fellowship of Deception back from Julie, the dear free-lance editor who did this manuscript's first unbiazed edit. It was like an out-of-body experience, reading her comments which held a glimpse of how she processed the words I had written. Self-published authors are short changing themselves by not getting at least one editor to look at their work. It is an amazing experience to see how another person's brain sees your work. So Dawn is doing her wonders with my baby and then I will get it back again and then who know??? my manuscript will start the publisher shopping process so I will see my work finished and y'all can read it. YEH.

Lily

My latest painting is of Erma's favorite flower. Who is Erma? JD's socialite mother. She sends them to his hospital room while he's recovering. Recovering from what you ask? That question is answered on page?. Sorry can't tell you which page yet because the book is in the process of being edited and then shopped to publishers. When it's published you'll be able to read and find out the answer.

This is my painting of the Blue Ridge mountains which is one of the settings in my cozy mystery novel 'Fellowship of Deception.' The main setting for the book is Raleigh, North Carolina. The main character is JD Brock, a 6foot 5>> he-man, now minister, but also a former detective of the Raleigh Major Crimes unit of the Raleigh PD. He keeps getting involved in murders in spite of the minister thing because his detective friends won't let go. The book is with my agent Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary agency (who by a weird conincidence also has a pic of the Blue Ridge mountains on her web site). It is in the editing phase and will soon be sent to publishers for that phase of 'How books get to their readers. '

I also am a fine art painter which is another reason the painting is featured above. It was unfortunately one of the many non-winners of ArtPrize based in Grand Rapids, MI. But I have an entry in the Federal Duck stamp contest so hope that painting does well.
